Volunteers do the work of ImagineAmenia. The unpaid members of the board of directors donate generously of their time and talents participating on town committees, writing letters, speaking out and generally assisting in any way they can.
Volunteers are needed for such things as attending town meetings, assisting with mailings and writing. Volunteers with valuable professional skills (legal, engineering, communications, databases, etc.) are also needed.
Our volunteers and members have differing opinions on individual issues, have differing political affiliations and come from diverse social and economic backgrounds. The common cause that binds ImagineAmenia is that every citizen should have a voice in our town and in what it becomes.

WE BELIEVE in open, honest, responsive government.
WE EXPECT our town officials to listen to all Amenia citizens.
WE APPRECIATE our neighbors’ volunteer efforts to improve the town.
WE ENCOURAGE initiatives to establish a town Economic Development Committee, in association with the Chamber of Commerce, to bring desirable businesses to Amenia.
WE NEED economic development balanced by quality of life and protection of our rural character.
WE REQUIRE responsible zoning decisions based on the Comprehensive Plan and the town’s zoning regulations.
WE URGE development of recreation and other much needed facilities for young and old.
