Mission Statement

ImagineAmenia is an organization of concerned citizens who have a common goal in working towards a positive future for the town.

• Committed to thoughtful planning while preserving and enhancing the town’s natural beauty

• Supporting practices and laws which encourage preservation of agriculture and open space

• Promoting educational efforts and public awareness

ImagineAmenia promotes involvement in the community and encourages others to do so.

WE BELIEVE in open, honest, responsive government.

WE EXPECT our town officials to listen to all Amenia citizens.

WE APPRECIATE our neighbors’ volunteer efforts to improve the town.

WE ENCOURAGE initiatives to establish a town Economic Development Committee, in association with the Chamber of Commerce, to bring desirable businesses to Amenia.

WE NEED economic development balanced by quality of life and protection of our rural character.

WE REQUIRE responsible zoning decisions based on the Comprehensive Plan and the town’s zoning regulations.

WE URGE development of recreation and other much needed facilities for young and old.
