Let Facts Lead the Way
In November 2005, a referendum was held to determine the wisdom of taking an $800,000 bond to buy the Allen property. While the vote was very close, the answer was NO! The results of that vote should not be ignored. The issue now before the Town Board however is quite different. We need to be informed by facts, not speculation and misinformation.

The “work” of this committee is the business of planning for and refurbishing each of our hamlets to attract economic growth without destroying the character of the town.

Route 22 and the Future of Amenia
Our town is learning from the experience of the towns in Putnam and southern Dutchess and trying to manage its future. The Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee (CPIC) has essentially taken Amenia’s existing Master Plan, which was reconfirmed by the public at several meetings, and is now writing zoning regulations that will be in compliance with the Plan and the wishes of citizens.

WE URGE development of recreation and other much needed facilities for young and old.
